LEMBA: The Africana Authors Space - an audio library
Africana Woman Network is excited to introduce our newest show, LEMBA, The Africana Authors Space. Reading is a BIG Deal in the Africana Woman Community. So is writing.
It has been a joy to watch our Book Club thrive from actually seeing themselves represented in the books we read. We have read books by authors from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Nigeria and Kenya and are eager to explore more African Literature both fiction and non-fiction.
Our goal is to expose not only our community but the whole world to talented female authors of African descent. Radically changing the narrative of what people believe Africa should be defined as. Instead, have them discover the rich tradition of storytelling that you continue to invite people to enjoy through your books.
We brainstormed on how best to accomplish our goal by utilising our strengths.
Hence the birth of the LEMBA podcast.
Lemba means write in Bemba, a bantu language found in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Congo DR.
LEMBA is a 15 minute showcase of you as an author.
- You will read an excerpt from your book
- You will answer a few questions to help the audience get to know you better and
- Links to your sales page will be posted in the show notes
New episodes of the show are released on Mondays.
